Welcome

Welcome to the ARC 3411/Urban Ecology Blog. This blog will be managed by the Architecture students under taking this 1 semester design studio. This blog will -

a) document the studio’s progress and share and connect with other design schools and/or institutions

b) share information and allow for the dissemination of relevant links to precedents, reading lists etc by the studio tutors

c) aim to expand the students skill sets in an ever increasingly competitive profession. Students should learn how to write and present their material/work for interfacing with a larger audience through current digital mediums.

  1. if i am correct and those white paths are wetlands (lower picture)they seem to me as corridors through buildings and that makes them important for the built environment. they should be used as conectors of built forms on both sides of the corridors.

  2. Hi Alain,

    Thanks for the comment.

Those 'white path's are indeed the wetlands. But it is the negative space left over between the built form. The above map, the green one, if overlaid will correspond with those 'white paths'.
