UN-Habitat launches call for Urban Youth Fund applications


If you are aged 15 – 32, you are invited to apply for the Urban Youth Fund
UN-Habitat is launching a call for applications for the Urban Youth Fund. This is the fifth year in a row grants are provided to projects led by young people aged 15-32 years who are piloting innovative approaches to employment, good urban governance, shelter and secure tenure. Small development initiatives are eligible for grants up to $25,000. These grants aim to promote youth empowerment as the solution for better urban governance. The application is open from February 15th 2013 to April 15th 2013.
Please disseminate the information to young people in your networks.
You are invited to share your opinion on this initiative. What innovative ideas do you have for utilizing $25,000 to improve shelter and promote secure tenure? 
What other ways would you suggest to promote youth empowerment in cities?

participatory design: COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS

The community workshop with the population, was about getting to know what KORA peope realy wants in terms of the neighborhood development.




































students divided participants in groups following their interest, and each group with students as guides made a list and map of what should be changed, added or removed according to population needs.

GETTING STARTED WITH PARTICIPATORY DESIGN

This semester, the studio will focus the participatory neighborhood design of Kora cell in Nyarugenge district. with the guidance of students and lecturers, the population of Kora will participate in this project through workshops.
